The Many Tentacles of PETA
Did you know that People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals operates over 100 web sites
? For example: www.WoolIsBaad.com www.FurIsDead.com www.MilkSucks.com www.MurderKing.com www.WickedWendys.com and www.JesusVeg.com
The last is a lame attempt to use Jesus as a historical spokesperson for vegetarianism. A foreign version of the site uses Genesis 1:29-31 to try to prove it is wrong for people to eat meat. What the Bible really says is that vegetarianism was God's design before sin was introduced. One day Christians will apparently all be vegetarians again. But God required the Israelites to eat meat (for example, the Passover meal - there was no special menu for animal lovers) and to make constant sacrifices. When a sheep was offered, its throat was slit while it was alive and breathing. PETA denounces the practice of killing animals without anesthesia or sedation (actually, it denounces killing any animals). In Genesis 3:21 God killed an animal (or possibly two) in order to cover the naked shame of Adam and Eve's disobedience. PETA denounces the production and use of fur clothing. Sacrifices and leather clothing are not pretty or pleasant to make, but God required them because of our sin. PETA denounces them because it is decidedly anti-Christian. (Thus you see the logic behind PETA's scaled-up "naked campaign.")
Jesus, by the way, was not a vegetarian.
"Ask you mommy how many dead animals she killed to make her fur clothes. Then tell her that you know she paid men to hurt and kill animals. Everyone knows." - Advised approach for children to confront their "greedy mommy" in PETA's new comic leaflet.
BTW, how do you kill a dead animal?

The Bible says that not even a sparrow falls without the Father knowing. This leads me to believe that God cares for all of his creation. God also created a natural order of things and that order includes the killing and eating of animals by other animals. A passage in the bible also says in essence "see how god cares for the lillys of the field and the birds of the air how much more does he care for you" if he cares for us more than the flowers and animals and he created the animals to prey on each other then how could we say that the eating of animals is outside of Gods plan?
Just a passing thought.
Jesus himself hung out with fishermen, helped them catch thousands of innocent fish, and ate fish with them. Saying that killing animals is wrong would be to accuse Jesus of sin.
The Bible says that in the future the lion will lie down with the lamb; so it appears that when the time is right, God will do away with meat-eating again.
