It's Absolutely Unbelievable
that Nature has published a story claiming that military firing ranges are better for wildlife than even national parks.
We are shockingly told that the explosions, the tank ruts, the fires
and all the other kinds of "disturbance" are essential elements for
allowing endangered species to take hold. As you cannot fail to
know, this is completely opposite of what ecologists have been telling
us for years. What ecologists have been telling us is that man
and his destructive technology has been wiping out every dab of life in
their path. Why this sudden fawning over military bases? Is it because they are government owned? Is it because the two U.S.
bases studied were in Germany?
And why is there a photo of a camouflaged person with a paint ball gun in the Nature story? Is paint ball paint good for wildlife too?
As our academic friends are going to say, This is highly irregular.
